LG Electronics is expanding its built-in kitchen appliance portfolio in Kenya, responding to growing demand for modern, space-efficient and design-focused home solutions.
The company is set to introduce its 2026 range of built-in ovens, hoods and hobs in Kenya from October, targeting homeowners and property developers who are increasingly looking for appliances that combine functionality with contemporary kitchen design.
The expansion builds on LG’s broader strategy of growing its built-in appliance business globally. The company has previously highlighted built-in appliances as an important part of its premium home appliance portfolio, combining energy efficiency, smart functionality and seamless design.
In Kenya, the shift comes as changing lifestyles, urbanisation and investment in modern housing influence how consumers design and equip their homes.
The country’s household cooking appliance market is projected to record USD 19.1 million (about KSh2.5 billion) in incremental gains between 2026 and 2031, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 6.69 percent. The broader household appliance market is projected to rise from approximately USD 49 million (KSh6.3 billion) in 2025 to more than USD 73 million (KSh9.5 billion) by 2029.
More than 75 percent of Kenyan households have access to electricity, creating a growing addressable market for modern household appliances. At the same time, urbanisation, rising disposable incomes and exposure to international interior-design trends are shaping consumer preferences.
“Kenyan consumers are increasingly looking at the kitchen as an extension of their lifestyle and personal expression, rather than simply a place to prepare food,” said Eric Otieno, Product Manager – Home Appliances (Future Products) at LG East Africa.
“Our 2026 built-in range responds to this shift by providing more choice in creating spaces that combine design and functionality. We are expanding the portfolio across different price points while also introducing larger-capacity and premium solutions for customers with more specialised requirements.”
New Built-In Appliances
At the centre of LG’s new Kenyan lineup is the LG 90cm Digital Oven, which offers a 96-litre capacity and is designed for households seeking larger cooking capacity.
The company will also introduce new hood solutions designed to blend into surrounding cabinetry, helping create a cleaner and more integrated kitchen appearance.
The range will further include Premium Glass Ceramic Gas Hobs, complementing LG’s existing stainless-steel gas hob portfolio.
The new products are expected to begin arriving in Kenya from October 2026.
From Cooking Space to Lifestyle Space
The growing popularity of built-in appliances reflects a broader change in how Kenyan homeowners view the kitchen.
Rather than being used solely for food preparation, modern kitchens are increasingly serving as spaces for entertaining, family interaction and everyday living. This is driving demand for customised layouts, premium finishes, better storage and appliances that integrate naturally with cabinetry and other kitchen features.
Built-in appliances can also help homeowners make more efficient use of limited kitchen space while reducing visual clutter.
For property developers, integrated appliances are increasingly becoming part of the value proposition in premium residential developments, helping create a more cohesive interior design and potentially increasing the appeal of new homes.
The trend is particularly visible in urban areas, where space efficiency and modern aesthetics are becoming increasingly important considerations for homeowners and developers.
LG’s expanded 2026 portfolio therefore comes at a time when Kenya’s housing and consumer markets are moving towards more integrated, functional and design-conscious living spaces.
The company’s latest offering is positioned to give Kenyan consumers more choice as they invest in kitchens that combine technology, functionality, energy efficiency and contemporary design.
