
Yvonne Kagondu, founder of ICP Hub Kenya, has been named to Business Daily Africa’s Top 40 Under 40 Women 2025, honoring her achievements and future impact.
Launched in April 2023, ICP Hub Kenya is a pioneering initiative dedicated to equipping young people across East Africa with practical Web3 and Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) skills. Under Yvonne’s leadership, the hub has gone beyond raising awareness, focusing instead on actionable innovation.

Since its launch,the hub has trained over 1,000 aspiring developers, entrepreneurs, and blockchain enthusiasts, accelerating the creation of homegrown, blockchain-powered solutions for Africa’s most pressing challenges.
Yvonne’s journey is anchored in a strong academic and professional foundation. After earning her Bachelor of Business Science in Financial Economics from Strathmore University in 2018, she honed her technical skills at Moringa School’s bootcamp.This dual expertise ignited her vision for blockchain as a tool for social and economic transformation.
She entered the Web3 space in 2018 as the East African representative for KuBitX, before collaborating with leading blockchain brands such as Aeternity, Zippie Ewallet, Paxful, Token Minds, Bitcoinke, and Force-field Digital. Her work spanned PR, community-building, and strategic roles, giving her a front-row seat to the continent’s blockchain evolution.
One of her most impactful roles was as Kenya Community Coordinator for Paxful from Feb 2020 to Apr 2021, where she led grassroots campaigns that brought over 100,000 Kenyans into the Paxful community and established Kenya as a leading P2P crypto hub in Africa.
Committed to closing the gender gap in blockchain, Yvonne founded the Kenya Blockchain Ladies DAO (KBLDAO) in July 2021. The initiative empowered over 300 women through mentorship, skills training, and career opportunities in marketing, community management, PR, and more,earning her a nomination for the Diversity Role Model Award at the African Startup Awards.
Through ICP Hub Kenya, Yvonne has come full circle,delivering hands-on developer training, hackathons, and campus outreach to ensure African youth don’t just adopt Web3 technologies but actively build their future.
Her influence has made her a sought-after speaker at more than 40 conferences, including Africa Tech Summit Kenya, ETHSafari, Africa Digital Finance Summit, East Africa Digital Innovation Summit (Rwanda), Kenya Blockchain & Crypto Conference, and Africa Liberty Forum (Cape Town). Her work has been featured in major media outlets such as Citizen TV, Y254 Channel, KTN News, Business Daily, Daily Nation, and People’s Daily.
A memorable highlight of her career came in 2023, when Yvonne hosted a community meet-up with Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, during his visit to Kenya,an inspiring milestone for the local developer community.
