The Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency (KEPROBA) has invited women-owned and women-led small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Kenya’s processed food sector to apply for its MBA Market Entry Programme, a free initiative designed to help businesses expand into the Canadian market.
The programme targets export-ready SMEs seeking to grow their international footprint by providing expert market intelligence and strategic guidance. Selected businesses will be paired with MBA student consultant teams from leading Canadian universities to develop customized market entry studies at no cost.
Through the programme, participating SMEs will receive:
- In-depth Canadian market research
- Product-specific market analysis
- Tailored market entry strategies
- Actionable export recommendations
- Technical support to strengthen export readiness
KEPROBA said the initiative is intended to equip women entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools needed to better understand the Canadian market, identify export opportunities, and position their products for long-term international success.
Expanding Opportunities for Women Exporters
Women-owned businesses continue to play a critical role in Kenya’s economy, contributing to job creation, innovation, value addition, and inclusive economic growth. Despite their growing contribution, many women entrepreneurs face challenges when entering international markets, including limited access to market intelligence, export networks, and information on regulatory requirements.
The MBA Market Entry Programme seeks to address these barriers by providing practical research and tailored recommendations that can help businesses develop effective export strategies for Canada.
Supporting Kenya’s Export Growth
KEPROBA, a state corporation under the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, is mandated to promote Kenya’s exports, market Kenyan products and services globally, and manage the Made in Kenya national brand.
The agency supports businesses through export advisory services, market intelligence, capacity-building programmes, trade missions, and international business linkages, helping Kenyan enterprises become globally competitive.
Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Floice Mukabana, KEPROBA continues to champion initiatives that expand market access for local businesses while strengthening Kenya’s export ecosystem.
The MBA Market Entry Programme forms part of the agency’s broader efforts to empower women entrepreneurs, increase the competitiveness of Kenyan products, and unlock new opportunities in international markets.
Eligible women-owned and women-led SMEs in the processed food sector are encouraged to express their interest and take advantage of this free opportunity to gain expert guidance on entering the Canadian market.
