KCB Bank has emerged as a key force in advancing sustainable innovation, serving as the main sponsor of the Kenya Green Building Society (KGBS) Conference & Green Expo 2025.
The landmark event, held in Nairobi, brought together government officials, private sector leaders, and community representatives to discuss how climate resilience can drive Kenya’s economic growth, from green urban development and smarter infrastructure to more inclusive industries.
During the conference, KCB Managing Director Annastacia Kimtai highlighted the bank’s commitment to sustainability as a shared societal responsibility. “At KCB, we are committed to playing our full part. However, our role is only as strong as the ecosystem around us. This is a wake-up call for all of us to make climate-resilient innovation a reality. The future of our cities, our economies, and our planet depends on the decisions and partnerships we forge today,” Kimtai said.
Beyond sponsorship, KCB has invested more than KShs. 25 billion in affordable housing, expanded its Green Loan Framework by 21%, and introduced innovative financial tools such as Conservation Prepaid Cards, supporting wildlife protection and sustainable tourism across Kenya.
Notably, the KGBS 2025 platform amplified the role of women in Kenya’s green transition. As caregivers, entrepreneurs, and leaders, women are at the heart of sustainable change. The conference ensured that women’s voices and innovations remain central to shaping climate solutions for a greener, more inclusive Africa.
The event underscored the importance of cross-sector collaboration and women’s leadership in building a climate-resilient future for Kenya and the continent.
